Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. Burrell hosts the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her signature spiky blonde locks and pumped-up persona on the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, reveals straightforward and simple methods for cooks at home. Chef Burrell studied and worked at the top New York restaurants. He also battled Iron Chef America and the culinary landscape of Italy. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by cooking and eating from an early age. Her passion was for working in the restaurant business by enrolment in The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I was awed by every minute of being a student in The Culinary Institute of America she states. It was hard to study, do or work enough. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell spent a year in Italy attending Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. In her time in Italy she was able to fully comprehend and appreciate the philosophy behind Italian cuisine and culture which made a lasting impression on her culinary perspective. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of struggling children. Burrell is also an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate where she has a mission to raise awareness for juvenile diabetics. Burrell travels extensively across the United States in her position as a mentor as well as a an invited speaker, where she talks about her professional life and the joy of cooking. Anne has, through her whole culinary journey has stated that it is a privilege to be in a position to be able to share this love of the food industry with people.
