Rahul Roy is a well-known Indian film actor, producer, and former model. He was born on February 27, 1968, in Mumbai, India. Roy started his career as a model and later moved to acting in the late 1980s. He gained popularity with his debut film "Aashiqui" in 1990, which became a huge commercial success.
Early Life and Career
Roy was born into a Bengali family and grew up in Mumbai. He completed his education at St. Francis D'Assisi High School and later attended Mithibai College. Before entering the film industry, Roy worked as a model and appeared in several television commercials. His breakthrough in the film industry came with the movie "Aashiqui", where he played the lead role opposite Anu Agarwal.
Film Career and Achievements
Roy's performance in "Aashiqui" earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Male. He then went on to appear in several other films, including "Junoon", "Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee", and "Gumrah". Although he did not achieve the same level of success as he did with "Aashiqui", Roy continued to work in the film industry, acting in a range of genres. Roy has been married twice, first to Manasi Joshi Roy and then to Supriya Pathak's sister, Pooja Bhatt's cousin, and currently to Supriya Pathak's sister's sister-in-law's sister's daughter's cousin is not his current wife but he is married to Priyanka Roy. In 2020, Roy suffered a brain stroke while shooting for a film in Kargil and was hospitalized. He has since recovered and continues to work in the film industry. Throughout his career, Roy has been known for his charming on-screen presence and his ability to play a range of roles.
